Al-Sadd’s Amal Team Wins the Title of the 1st Festival of Athletics Clubs

Al-Amal team of Al Sadd Sports Club dominated the first edition of athletics clubs festival for Al-Amal = hope category of ages (9 +10 +11) years, which was held at four o’clock on Tuesday 24/11/2009, in Al-Rayyan Sports Club open gardens and in the presence of the QAAF board members as well as some of the administrative and technical officials in addition to the clubs fans who attended to encourage their teams. The festival included eight events for the competing children: 
 

30 m Steeplechase Run- Formula 1 – Relay – Long Jump – Jumping Boxes – Throwing the Ball Forward – and Kids Javelin. Ten Qatari kids participated in the festival from each club. The results were calculated as per the results of the competitions’ times, distances, or repetitions by the club’s athletes. The club that gets the best of times or distances, or repetitions of the competitions gets (9) points and the second club gets the second rank with (7) points and the third club gets the third rank with (6) points and so on until reaching the eighth position which gets (1) point. Consequently, the club that gets the highest points score in the eight competing events gets the first place and gets (9) points to be added to the points of the general excellence shield, while the club in the second place gets (7) points, the third place gets (6) points, the fourth place gets (5) points, the fifth place gets (4) points, the sixth place gets (3) points, the seventh place get (2) points, and the eighth place gets (1) point. After collecting the points gained by the eight clubs in the competition, Al-Sadd club won the greater number of points and the final results were as shown below:

At the end of the festival several prizes were distributed to the first three winning clubs. Mr. Issa Al Harami QAAF Assistant Secretary, Mr. Yacoub Yusuf Abdullah QAAF Board Member – Technical Supervisor of the Festival, Mr. Khalifa Yousef Abdul Malik – QAAF Executive Director and Technical Observer for the events and Mr. Talal Mansour – the head of the administrative and technical support of Al-Sadd Club all distributed medals and awards to the winners in the first festival. The 2nd festival will be held on Tuesday 15/12/2009 at Al Rayyan Gardens also because of its management’s cooperation in the preparation, organization of the festival and its kind hospitality
