2010 WIC media committee meet

DOHA, February 03, 2010 – The Media Committee of the 13th IAAF World Indoor Athletic Championships – Doha 2010 held its second meeting at the QOC headquarters on Tuesday.

The event will be staged at the Aspire, Academy of Sport Excellence from March 12-14, 2010 with participation of about 1300 athletes representing 158 countries.

Mr. Abdullah Yousef Al Mullah, Head of Media Committee discussed about the latest proceedings of the organising committee ahead of the prestigious event and reaffirmed that the Media Committee received about 100 applications from foreign newspapers to cover the event and the deadline for accepting the applications will be on February 15, 2010.

Al Mullah also stressed that the organising committee will organise a rehearsal tournament with participation of 80 players representing 16 countries.

“We as the organising committee and media committee will organise a rehearsal for the TV broadcasters on March 10 and will issue a booklet about the championship to help journalists cover the event,” he said.

The first meeting of Media Committee was held last week under the chairmanship of Abdullah Al Mullah.
