IAAF delegate impressed with 2010 WIC preparatory event

DOHA, 28 February 2010 – IAAF delegate have lauded the “Doha Indoor Athletic Meeting 2010” a preparatory event for WIC in Athletics took place here in Doha earlier on 26 February.

The WIC’s preparatory event came two weeks prior to the World Indoor Championships in Athletics which take place from 12-14 march 2010 in Doha.

IAAF delegate members appreciated the fruitful efforts of WIC Organising Committee under the presidency of HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Secretary General of Qatar Olympic Committee to secure an exceptional world indoor athletics meeting here in Qatar.

Registration:

According to 2010 WIC organisers, all athletes could complete registration measures until the deadline specified on 3 March.

Workshop:

The WIC Organising committee held a productive media workshop in cooperation with IAAF in Doha attended by elite world journalists, coaches and retired athletes.

The workshop mainly aims to secure a distinctive media coverage for the prestigious event in mid March.

Qatar to host exceptional world indoor athletics meeting

HE Brigadier, Dahlan Al Hamad, IAAF vice- president told reporters that Qatar will dazzle the world with an exceptional world indoor athletics meeting in mid of upcoming March.

The IAAF vice – president also said that the attendance of the HH Heir Apparent in the 2010 WIC’s opening ceremony will secure more elements of success for the prestigious event.

Mr. Dahlan stressed that the 2010 WIC’s preparatory event held at Aspire Dome recently, will attract increase number of fans from all over the Globe.
