IAAF chief lauds Doha WIC 2010 edition
DOHA, March 29, 2010 - Mr. Lamine Diack, President of International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), was impressed with the historic success achieved by Qatar in hosting the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics that took place from March 12-14 in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Mr. Yannis Nikolaou, the IAAF Communications Manager, affirmed that the Doha 2010 edition of the IAAF Word Indoor Championships, held from (March 12-14) was the best ever.
In a letter addressed to the Media & Broadcast Manager within the Local Organizing Committee, Mr. Abdulla Youssef Al Mulla, he underlined that the level of Media services provided during the event was on a par with that of the IOC Olympic Games and the IAAF World Outdoor Championships.

DOHA, March 14, 2010 - Teddy Tamgho placed the exclamation point at the end of the final day of the 13th IAAF World Indoor Championships here in Doha, Qatar when he reached 17.90m in the Triple Jump to shatter the World Indoor record.*

DOHA, March 14, 2010 - IAAF Chief, Mr. Lamine Diack visited Fan Zone of the 13th IAAF World Indoor Athletics Championships at the Aspire Sunday.
Diack was happy with the overall success of the prestigious event and conveyed his thanks and appreciations to the Organising Committee for their achievement.
IAAF Chief also praised the attendance of spectators who came to witness and cheer their favourite athletes during the three-day championship which concluded Sunday.

Russian Ukhov grabs high jump gold
DOHA, March 14, 2010 - Ivan Ukhov of Russia was one of three men to clear 2.31 metres in the high jump final, but he was the only one who could go higher, all the way to a world indoor championships gold medal.
Ukhov, his Russian teammate Yaroslav Rybakov and Dusty Jonas of the USA all got 2.31 - the Russian pair on the first attempt, Jonas on his second. Ryabkov had kept a clean sheet up until then, Ukhov had had one miss at the previous height of 2.28.
