Under the supervision of the International Association of Athletics Federations, QAAF organized during 27-28 October 2009 a specialized course for athletics referees. The course comes in the light of the preparations going on by Qatar to host the World Athletics Indoor Championship during 12-14 February 2010. The number of attendees reached 140 referees (women and men).

Qatar delegation head to Vietnam for Asian indoor Games on Friday
The first batch of Qatar’s administrative delegation to the 3rd Asian Indoor Games in Vietnam is set to leave for Hanoi, Vietnam on Friday to complete the final managerial arrangements for Qatar’s participation in the Games that will take place from October 30 to November 08, 2009.

The Qatari national team of athletics succeeded to win "4" colorful medals at the end of the Arab Championship for men and women categories, which was held in the Syrian capital Damascus during the period from 6 to 9 October 2009, with the participation of 18 Arab countries represented by 505 athletes, namely: Jordan, Iraq , Lebanon, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Yemen, Sudan, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Tunis, Morocco and Syria, the host country.

21 November 2009 - Monaco - The top stars of international athletics were on display this evening at the Fairmont Hotel, Monaco, to give their backing to the IAAF Diamond League, with the organisers of the new global track and field circuit honoured to announce those same athletes as its Ambassadors and as contracted participants for 2010.

QAAF launched on the 13th of December 2009 a coaching course for the athletics coaches (Level 1) in order to further develop their skills and technical experiences. The course was organized in cooperation with IAAF regional development center in Cairo. Two of the IAAF lecturers instructed in the course (Dr. Wael Ramadan and Dr. Tamir Awais). Doha, December 08, 2009 Mr. Lamin Diack the President of International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) visited Aspire Academy of Sport Excellence on Monday where the 13th IAAF world Indoor Championships will be staged in March 2010.
Diack expressed his happiness about the facilities of Aspire Academy and praised the preparations taken by the Higher Organizing Committee of the IAAF World Indoor Championship- Doha 2010.
